Planning for a Bridal Shower Party
09th October 2006
If you're planning a bridal shower, the first thing you will want to do is decide on a theme. Some people simply choose a color theme, while others go with a Hollywood, Hawaiian, Vegas or another exotic theme.
Once you have decided on the theme you're going to go with, you can begin working on the other factors of planning the bridal shower. You can choose food, bridal shower favors and decorations that go along perfectly with your theme.
The location of your bridal shower is important too. You want it to be a special occasion free of interruptions, so a busy restaurant isn't the greatest idea unless you can reserve a room away from other diners. Hotel conference or ballrooms work well, but you can always hold a bridal shower in someone's home for a more personal touch.
It's customary for each guest at a bridal shower to leave with a small gift, a token of appreciation for attending. Bridal shower favors can be many things and it's important to incorporate the personality of the bride or the theme of the wedding into them.
For a bridal shower gift that smells as great as it looks, give your guests a sachet. You'll find that there are countless options when it comes to sachets- from beaded purses and embroidered handbags to monogrammed purses and corset shaped sachets. To give sachets their intoxicating scents, they are filled with lavender, rose, potpourri and other fragrances.
Tiny tins of tea or coffee make adorable bridal shower wedding favors that your guests can take home and brew up. Teapot soaps also make a cute gift for your guests and they won't break the bank either!
A set of coasters with a love theme or design on them is another great gift idea for your guests. If you want your guests to be surprised as to what bridal shower favor they are getting, you can put a bunch of different favors into a box and let each guest reach in and grab one when they leave. Some ideas for this 'grab bag' are cosmetic bags, sewing kits, make-up brush set, inexpensive costume jewelry, or disposable cameras.
An inexpensive way to have your guests raving about the bridal shower favors is to give them each a makeup bag. If you're having a tropical bridal shower, give makeup bags decorated with a beach or sunset theme and so on. A makeup bag is something every guest of a bridal shower will love and surely use long after the shower ends!
