04th October 2006
The success in putting up a good fight and play at golf lies not only with the significant investment in the pricey equipment and golf clubs. Diet is also crucial, as well as physical rest, inspiration and of course, motivation.
This article would focus on the exercises and simple flexibility tasks that would greatly help you curve up and become physically capable and able to put up a golf game.
(a) The back stretch
This exercise is very relaxing. It is considered more of a flexibility task or activity than a physical exercise. To execute back stretch, follow the following simple procedures.
1. Get a mat and spread it on the floor.
2. Kneel down then stretch your arms forward on the mat. Reach further until your head is almost touching the floor.
3. Make sure the palms of your hands are lying restively on the floor. Extend further forward until you can. Hold the position for a couple of minutes.
4. Rise up and stand. You can repeat the procedure indefinitely.
(b) The spinal twist
Playing golf would require you to swing that golf club to the left or to the right, depending on your position. Thus, it is important to achieve well-toned muscles at the spinal area or the sides of the abdomen.
Here is an exercise that would help maintain and achieve flexibility of that physical area.
1. Stand firmly. Then start rotating your torso or upper body to the left, without moving your feet, which should be firmly standing on the ground.
2. Do the same position or step to the right.
3. Do the process for as long as your body could tolerate.
The exercise is simple, yet the flexibility achieved through executing it is almost always and practically helpful for you, the valuable and dedicated golf player.
Enjoy the game and stay focused. That would be the best flexibility task and discipline ever. Swing the golf clubs buddy!
