Dolce and Gabbana are the Italian fashion designers with a fashion house of the same name. Known for exquisite evening wear, they also offer ready to wear, knitwear, beachwear, lingerie and accessories, menswear and fragrances. Well known entertainers and socialites utilize this Italian house when they need something extra special for a party, a night at the opera or a fundraiser.

Oscar de la Renta is a Dominican-American fashion designer who is a favorite designer of socialites. He designs ready to wear, accessories, fragrance, and a home collection, and these lovely clothes and items make up just a portion of his beautiful offerings from which socialites choose their favorites.

Jean Paul Gaultier got his start with famous designer Pierre Cardin. Later he released his own collection of clothes, and is known for his irreverent takes on traditional fashion looks and his use of nontraditional-looking models. He takes some inspiration from street wear, for example, but always puts his own unique style on every piece he creates. He has designed for Madonna, although he does also design for men. Cristobal Balenciaga is the Spanish designer who founded the Balenciaga fashion house. He made a name for himself due to the bubble skirts and striking, very modern shapes that he applied to his women's clothing styles. His fashions were purchases by the former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Today Balenciaga fashion house has designed frocks for Nicole Kidman and Kylie Minogue, as well as other socialites.
A designer name that has been world-renowned for years is that of the Parisian fashion house Chanel. In addition to their haute couture clothing, they are also justifiably famous for their Chanel No. 5 perfume. They have had several famous models for that product, including Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou and even Marilyn Monroe. Coco Chanel, the founder of the fashion house, brought simple lines to bear on what had been previously the corseted look of past eras. The simple styling of the Chanel suit is world famous, as is the interlocking letter C logo.
