Droid Font To Be Featured In Logo Design
You may be asking yourself why everyone is talking about Droid. Well, it’s simple. Google is finally ready to release their newest and greatest invention of font and logo design that will rock the future of logo designs and fonts in the future.

Droid is the perfect name for this innovative font because it may very well be the greatest competitor to Apple’s iPhone, the Android. The Droid font was created after a group effort on the part of Google and Ascender. Ascender is not new to font creation, as they specialize in digital type-facing and have established and created unique fonts and logo designs for many companies like Motorola and Microsoft.

Android was the creation of more than 30 companies within the Open Handset Alliance and was formed as a mobile phone operating system. It was based on Linux and is compatible with any Java-like applications that the mobile operator can create, and has quickly been dubbed as Dream. Ascender is part of the Open Handset Alliance and is thus quite knowledgeable on the workings of Android. They have brought this knowledge to their collaboration with Google on the Droid project.

The Evolution of the Droid Font

Being well known for their contemporary use of fonts, Google was looking for fresh ideas for the Android and yet keep to strict guidelines and specifications. They wanted the finished font to be easy to look at and refrain from it being too tech- or harsh. It had to quite simply put, enthrall the view and endorse the personality of the project, but not be the reason that consumers wanted the product. The font was to be quite simply an added perk to the product.

When it came time to begin creating a font that would be perfect for the Dream phone, a lot of proposals were proffered, and two stood out from the rest. These two proposals were at opposite ends of the spectrum for what the team was looking for that they quickly deduced that they need to find something in the middle. Thus it was an easy enough task to create a font that did this and still preserved the basic principles of Google and was wholly distinct.

What to Expect When Using Droid Fonts

Because the Droid font is a special and unique creation, it will only be available on the G1 (Android) phones. At first it may be just a perk, but it will quickly gain attention when it comes to head that the features on the phone is related to the Droid. And the fonts that are within websites you visit with your mobile device, will be easily converted to the Droid font utilizing either the monospace, serif or sans serif complimentary fonts.

A large variety of international characters can also be found among the features of the Droid font. But if you want to solve a great mystery that surrounds the font make-up you will only succeed in disappointing yourself. The font is strictly a font and there is no mystery that needs to be solved.
