We can’t get accurate time of the origin for magic.It is said that there was magic since human appeared.Its origin belonged to religion and belief.Ancient people believed Natrue and deities.So sorcerers took advantage of people’s superstition,they made the masses believe that gods really existed in the world.

The earliest record about magic is in Egypt.In 1823,people found a manuscript which set down a magician who called Dedi.Dedi showed magic for pharaoh.He cut the head of a goose,and the goose could walk even.Later Dedi connected its head again.But he refused to do that when the pharaoh asked him to cut prisoners’ heads.

Cups And Balls is the earliest magic that people know at present.It can be seen on the Tomb of Baqt III at Beni Hassan B.C 2500 in Egypt.It was quite popular in the Middle Ages.Magicians at that time were called juggers,they travelled everywhere and entertained villagers.

In the late Middle Ages,magicians’s tribulations began.They met strong obstruction from churches.Any magic that churches disagreed was regareded as bad magic.Although playing magics became a very dangerous job,magicians were still fashionable.Some aristocrats protected them.In recent three hundred years,religion persecuted magicians more.In a certain time,magicians would be killed if they continued to do magic.And they must share the all secrets of magics with others.Therefore,the first English book about magics appeared.It used to save magicians’s lives.

In history,where there was crowd,there was magic.In the 18th century,the most famous line was magic.In the 19th century,with the development of theaters,magicians found their own stages. John Henry Anderson 1814-1874,the Great Wizard of North,he is the ancestor to take magic into theater.His style in play and creation influenced lots of people.Magicians combined light with stage,they began a new era for magic.The 19th century was a golden period for magic.Magicians wore formal swallow-tailed coats.So wearing swallow-tailed coats began.In the 21st century,the most well-known magician is Harry Houdini 1874-1926.Nowadays,people have more needs for magic.As it can still meet people’s huge curiosities.

Magic tells us that life is always full of wonders and dreams.At the same time,we know the essence of things may be different from their surfaces.Magic will develop with human history.
