Another Call for Seniors and Veterans to Get Stimulus Checks
If you are one of those people who didn’t get a stimulus check from the government, or has a relative or a friend who hasn’t got one, don’t stress yourself out. There is a reason why you or people you know haven’t received your tax rebates.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has identified more than 5 million qualified recipients of stimulus checks who have yet to file their tax returns. Filing a tax return is required before you can claim your checks.

The 5.2 million qualified Americans are mostly senior citizens and veterans who are not used to filing their returns because of non-taxable benefits. Since they do not habitually file tax returns, a lot of senior citizens and people who served in the military are not aware that this is necessary to get the checks.

If you are one of them, this piece of information is just what you need.

You may have not filed your tax returns and don’t intend to do so in the near future, but if you want to claim your share of the tax rebates, it is highly advisable that you do. After all, an additional $300 to $600 in your budget can be a great help in daily expenses. All you have to do is to complete a simplified 1040A tax form.

The IRS previously sent out letters to 20.5 million Americans who have not yet filed for tax returns informing them of how to claim their checks. Since the agency only got 15 million responses, it will be sending out another batch containing an explanation of eligibility and claiming process. It will also include both a sample and an actual form.

Like you, there are others out there in the same situation. In Pennsylvania, for instance, there are 244,600 qualified retirees and disabled vets; 15,105 in the city of Pittsburgh; 25,231 in Allegheny County; 3,747 in Beaver; 2,969 in Butler; 4,366 in Washington; and 6,981 in Westmoreland.

IRS plans to reach out to more people and help them get their stimulus checks by launching a massive campaign dubbed as, “It’s Not Too Late To File!”
