Austria's inspirational capital Vienna rarely fails to win tourist over with its charms. Throughout history, this beautiful city has constructed itself a spectacular pedestal on the international tourist stage for its cultural finesse and grandeur.

Hofburg Imperial Palace

Museum of Fine Arts

There are many of these throughout Europe, although this far and away one of the most extensive and impressive. With a collection to rival that of the Louvre in Paris, France, time quickly passes for tourists caught in careful examination of the mesmerising expanse of its contents.

Music

Opera and classical music are some of Vienna's most prized cultural institutions since the time of the great Mozart, who spent the best part of his creative life in Vienna. Visitors can either experience his work first hand in the many Mozart concerts on offer, or can visit his last surviving creative vestibule - his home in Domgasse.

There are of course plenty of other modern day musical institutions to explore in Vienna, from its Symphony Orchestra to its Chamber Opera.
